Salicylic Acid is a fat-soluble organic acid, that appears as a white crystalline powder. It naturally occurs in willow bark. Salicylic Acid is widely used both as an active ingredient and as a chemical synthesis intermediate.
Traditionally there are three Grade of Salicylic Acid:
Industrial, Premium, and Pharma.
Industrial Grade is mostly used in the rubber industry, chemical industry, dye industry, or as a chemical intermediate.
Premium Grade is used as an active ingredient, to produce preservatives, insect repellents, anti-miliaria drugs, topical analgesics, and anti-aging creams.
Pharma Grade is used as a pharmaceutical intermediate to produce aspirin, sodium salicylate, salicylamide, phenyl salicylate, and niclosamide.
